My family calls me the scurve because they think I don’t eat enough vegetables. I grew up in Victoria, BC, but I’ve been living in Ottawa for the last four years. The only real difference living here is the actual differentiation between seasons – it was hard at first but then I forked out $700 to buy a Canada Goose winter jacket and now my life is perfect. The only thing missing is a real beach, the smell of the ocean, and the feeling of sand between my toes during the summer time.
I’m just starting my fifth year of Computational Biochem at Carleton University and I have yet to meet anyone in my program which is sad and lonely, but I guess it’s not so bad. In an ideal world I would be doing a Math degree, but what can you do with a Math degree, honestly? But I love what I’m doing now, so if there’s anybody out there doing the same thing please come back to life so I can be less lonely.
Avoiding social contact is one of my greatest strengths so writing this sort of thing to send out to the interwebs seemed like a good idea to pass the time. I haven’t really decided what I will write about in my blog. I have made pages to document all of the travelling I plan to do with my boyfriend, M, in the next year or so. Other than that I will probably just use it as a place to bitch and whine about my existence – and since basically everything other people do annoys me, I’ll have a lot to talk about.
I’ve been working in a lab at Carleton University since April 2010 and there are sometimes interesting nerdy dramas. A strange dramatic vibe exists with this small group of socially inept nerds – who wouldn’t want to hear about that? Honestly, in the past I’ve been legitimately made fun of for the operating system I choose to use…
Aside from everything already mentioned, there’s not much to my life. I’m a girl so, obviously, I have the standard shopping addiction (mostly with shoes). I’ve even started designing my shoe closet. I love interior design everything – from paint to room accessories and home renovations. I am a perfectionist in almost all areas of my life except, surprisingly, school. I love playing video games – my current favs are Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Alice: Madness Returns, Grand Theft Auto IV, and I’ve been playing a lot of Infamous but haven’t got the energy to bother getting Infamous 2. Of course, as most gamers would admit, online multiplayer is the best way to play so BFBC2 is most definitely my favourite. I read magazines, books, whatever. But anyways, who really gives a shit, you probably haven’t even read this far and if you really want to know anything about me then the only logical thing to do would be to read this blog…
My horoscope says I have “an air of royalty” and that I’m going to “blaze gloriously through [my] life,” so why not talk about it? My gloriousness, that is.
